Morbosidad/Perversor – Invocaciones Demoniacas

Written by: Waffen

On offer here is some of the meatiest Black Metal around, highly collectible and sought after as it is release in 3 variations: 12″ vinyl format with an 8-page zine style booklet and A2 sized-poster, yellow vinyl ‘die hard’ copies come with both Morbosidad and Perversor patches and finally a ‘die harder’ white vinyl version limited to 100 copies only available through Morbosidad!

It is obvious Nuclear War Now! has really gone to town on this release and rightly so because stuff like this deserves it. Morbosidad blast off the proceedings. In keeping with the meat theme they begin with a wickedly hefty riff barrage sounding like an avalanche of exploding sausages pouring from the speakers. Fans of the band will notice the sound is a lot heavier than 2008′s Profana la Cruz del Nazareno.

So the opener rattles past in two minutes and the next cut flops onto the scales at six and a half! Unusual of Morbosidad to make their songs this long but it seems to be three rolled into one big Black Metal banger the size of your Grandad’s fingers after forty years hard labour. As you would expect the music is blistering but catchy with dark bellowed shouting and hammering percussion. The other two tracks don’t differ from what you’d expect and are massively enjoyable for it.

It feels more sinister than their other recordings too, especially when they break into one or two Slayer moments! If this is a portent of things to come then Morbosidad will just keep getting better and better. To me this is their most competent work to date.

Having never previously hear Perversor I was intrigued to hear what they would bring to the Butcher’s table. A sack full of razor sharp cleavers and carving knives and a truck full of cattle to chop up was the answer I would never have predicted. Not as heavy as Morbosidad but lacking nothing in the amazing ferocity and rabid energy they purvey.

‘Hordas del Mal’ wastes no time in getting to work and soon offal and steak are flying about the place with a honed precision. Perversor are fast as fuck in every way. The riffing, singing and drumming are all fighting to see who will be the first to get to the end of each song. This is captivating and relentless musical bludgeoning!

There is a fair bit of variation too which keeps their side of the record bloating nicely under the sun. Again they are defined by trademark short but rampant songs ideal as a soundtrack for burning and looting. The best of these is ‘The Awakening of the Ancient Ones’ three minutes of superbly summoned fillet aggression – rare, so blood still seeps from within as the ultra pit riff in the middle opens up.

This really is a release for the die hard fans of the underground and a totem of excellence for both bands. An outstanding combination for a split release if ever there was one and for once totally equal in the nature and quality of music contained within. If you enjoy either band you’ll NEED a copy of this…if you’re lucky enough to get hold of one before they disappear into the void they were made for.
