Horn – Naturkraft

Germany’s Horn play Pagan-inspired Black Metal – check out these free mp3 samples. Interesting stuff. Elements of it remind me of Burzum, Satanic Warmaster, Bathory, and perhaps even a tinge of  UK Heathen doom metallers Bretwaldas – but on the whole it’s quite unique, I think.

  1. Not my cup of lava this mate. I did laugh at the song on their samples page called Alpenland II – what the fuck is that? A theme park for cereal fanatics?

    • I agree, more atmospheric than stuff I normally listen to, but that’s one of the reasons I like it. I find a lot of ‘atmospheric’ Black Metal to be boring and weak, but this has power that doesn’t need 1000bpm drumming. The more I listen to it, the more I really like the guitar sound, the melodies and song structures – but a couple of tracks on ‘Naturkraft’ are a little tedious.

‘alpenland” a perfect name for a theme park.haha..Anyway this is very ambient/atmosphoric bm..Nastiness level almost equate to zero..I would say an average rating for this.

  4. lol, the song titles are German, and ‘Alpen’ quite simply means ‘Alps’ (i.e. the European mountain range that crosses southern Germany), so “Alpenland” probably means something like ‘Land of the Alps’.
