Kill Interview

Fresh off the back of my review of Inverted Funeral I managed to track down Getaz and after much negotiating and the promise of multiple virgins to sacrifice he agreed to visit the Hellfurnace and face our interrorgation.

It’s been two years since Inverted Funeral came out. On your myspace page you say you have finished recording a new album for 2009. Great news for us fans, can you shed any more light on the new album. Can you reveal the name for the album, some song titles or a release date to keep us going until relase?

The New album is the first album without Black Curse´s involvement. Eventhough he left the band some years ago.  It was always him and me that did all KILLs musick, and now we have a different lineup.  But i must say eventhough he is not on the album it really turned out fucking perfect.  The new album is entitled ”No Catharsis”, and will be released by Worship Him Records.  It contains 8 tracks of KILL´s Necro Black Metal. Some titles are: Rites of Bestial Impurity, Spear the Redeemer of Man, Eternal Damnation etc… The album is the first one we used digital recording on, and though i prefer analog recordings i cant say iam dissapointed in the sound of the album. Sure it sounds a bit different but not in a bad way.   The Label just sent it to the pressing plant so i guess it will be out in june.

Will you be uploading any new material onto Myspace?

We uploaded one track from the album on our myspace. Its the Track All makt åt Satan.  Its just a rough mix though but you get the point.

Can we expect more of the same or does the new album differ from Inverted Funeral?

Its a progress from Inverted Funeral but its still Necro Black Metal in the KILL tradition. Perhaps a little bit faster…

The past few years have seen many changes of band members, is Kill now a strong and stable unit fused together by grimness?

I would say that this lineup is the strongest we have ever had. Total dedication and devotion for Satan and black Metal. All of the new members has been in the bands a few years now and we have done a lot of gigs in the latest year and more will follow.

What drivies your creative process? Is it the hatred for other humans, dedication to the old principles and atmosphere of Black Metal or some other influence?

We love death. Everything that brings this world unto Total damnation is an influence in our songwriting.  We want this world to perish and so our songs are about the destruction of mankind and the rise of our father Satan.

The production on Inverted Funeral was excellent and the really complemented the music. Are you perfectionists when it comes to recording or do you turn up and bang out the tracks and record them with a minimum of tinkering?

To get the true necro sound we dont do a million retakes, We want there to be mistakes on the album or its not fucking Necro.  So where other bands does retakes or disguise their mistakes we leave them on the album.  Of course we dont just record and takes the first recording on the album, but to get it in the KILL way we leaves untightness as it is.  KILL has a special sound image the we always go about and it takes many hours in the studio to get there.

How would you describe Kill’s music in one word?

NECRO

Experimentation. Are you pro or anti? Do you believe that Black Metal should stick rigidly to the basic rules or do you think it is ok to explore and bring in new styles and ideas to the genre?

I´m not totally against experimentation sometimes its really good. But black Metal has some standards you just cant skip.  Black Metal is in honour of Satan and Destruction, and not fucking pro-life in any way. the ideas behind Black Metal must not change. BLACK METAL IS INTOLERANCE!

Black Metal has self perpetuated itself for nearly 30 years, will this continue or are we headed for a death of the genre like Death Metal suffered during the late 1990′s?

There are always ongoing trends in every genre, but those true devoted stay unchanged. Death to trends and suicide lifemetal.

You state that Darkthrone is one of your major influences. Opinion seems divided on their direction over recent albums. Where do you stand on the issue?

Personally all the old darkthrone and especially Fenris drummings has always been a great inspiration to me. When i started playing drums it was always albums like Ablaze in the Northern sky , Under a funeral Moon and Transilvanian Hunger that inspired my drums in KILL.  Since the late 80ties it was always them and their likes that went warm on my stereo.  I think you can see that it reflects in KILL´s muSick without at doubt.  The newer Darkthrone musick is really good too. We dont get inspired by it but i have no problem att all listening and liking it. Hail the old Gods!

What’s your favourite album of all time?

Its hard to answer and just say 1 album there are so many. But some albums i really worship are: Black Witchery- upheaval of satanic might, Grand Belials Key- mocking the philanthropist, Katharsis-world without end, Gorgoroth-pentagram, Venom-welcome to Hell.  Venom is always KING.

A few years back Dark Funeral did a scratch and sniff limited edition cd which stank of old tyres. Mine did anyway. If you did one similar what smell would you have?

It would smell like speed.

Harpies, Gorgons and Mermaids. All female creatures from Mythology who bare their flesh. If you were the Minotaur lord which one would you most like gaped for your pleasure? What would be the reason for you being attracted to the particular creature?

I would not mind harem filled with Harpies, hehe.  That would be extreme S/M action destroying my flesh and soul eternally . And just think about the venereal disease from hell that might get me. Awesome!!!

What are you going to have written on your headstone or death monument when you die? Also if you could errect a monument in honour of yourself to mark your demise what would you have crafted?

Death is Just the beginning. See you in Hell.  And a monument of  a huge phallus since its a big thing in my pants that the world would miss indeed.

What is the most disgusting thing you can think of?

The band Hypothermia.
